How We Do Things

  • We do not offer rough board.  Our horses all get hand-led into the comfort of their own stall every night. We like to ensure all the horses get twice daily handling to notice any potential issues. We want to make sure each of the horses get their proper, individual feed and supplement rations.
  • Morning turnout starts  at 6:30am and evening turn-in at 4:00pm (weather dependent).   A strict schedule is not only important to our horses’ health, but it is easy for our boarders to count on.
  • Our 9 different pasture groups are small, ranging from 3-6 horses (no large herd!).
  • We always separate mares & geldings.
  • Individual dry lot turnout is available for stallions, show horses or injured/recovering horses for an extra fee each month.
  • All of our pasture & dry lot turnouts have heated automatic waterers, hay feeders & at least one shed for shelter.
  • Safe and beautiful white plastic fences with smooth electric wire.
  • Located on 300 acres of farmland with mowed trails.

  • We make our own hay right here and on a second farm that the barn owners have just a few miles from here.   This allows us to keep our hay quality better and more consistent than barns who buy theirs.
  • We decide when our hay gets cut, raked and baled.  We know our hay does not have any harmful preservatives, pesticides or herbicides on it.  Our hay is never harvested too wet and it does not contain any dangerous weeds.
  • We have a hay analysis completed on each different hay cutting every year.
  • A professional equine nutritionist changes our custom grain mix based on the hay analysis results (if needed).

  • Stalls are cleaned 365 days a year.
  • We clean very thoroughly and use barn lime to kill odor and bacteria on the stall mats.  We also use wood pellets in each stall to absorb excess urine and save more shavings.
  • Automatic waterers in the stalls are dumped out and refreshed every single day.
  • Grain boxes and waterers are scrubbed once a week.
  • Barn hours:  Monday – Friday 8:00am – 9:30pm and Saturday – Sunday 8:00am – 9:00pm.
  • The horses all get a final evening check at closing time each night and the manager lives right here, on site.
  • During the summer months, owners may hang a box fan on their horse’s stall front for extra comfort.
  • Barn owner and the barn manager both keep their own personal horses here.  This isn’t just a “side business” for us.  We know the kind of care different horses need and we treat all the horses as our own.

  • Use your choice of veterinary clinics:  Irongate Equine, Country View, Fox Woods Equine and Lodi Veterinary Care all have clients here.
  • Use whichever farrier you prefer, as often as your horse needs it.  With so many different breeds and disciplines here, no one farrier suits them all.  Currently there are six different farriers who come to our barn.  Some horses are on a schedule as often as every 4 weeks, while others don’t need it until closer to every 8 weeks.
  • Our boarders can get help from a professional for training their horse or for coaching/lessons if they would like.  We have some trainers who have their own horse(s) & their clients’ horses boarded here.  There are other trainers and coaches who come to our barn as needed too.
